Here's a basic cooking method/recipe that we used in the Boy Scouts.
I've enjoyed it every time I made it and could really make it again.  You can add or remove according to your taste.

Hot charcoal or wood fire
Aluminum foil
hamburger patties
seasoning
carrots
potatos
onion
bell pepper
celery
1-2 tablespoon of water
whats-this-here sauce
hot sauce

Make a square pouch with foil paper (doublewrap the edges) and insert the above ingredients.  One or two patties per person.  This is meant for individual servings so each person could add more or less of what they like.  Add a few tablespoons of water to help steam inside.  Carefully wrap the opening and throw over hot coals.  After 5-8 minutes carefully flip over for another 5 minutes or so.

Usually the pouches will expand.  When you think it's done remove from fire and unwrap the last sealed edge to check.  The meat should be cooked along with the vegetables.  Seal it back then carefully cut a slit on top and use the foil as your serving dish.  It makes for easy cleanup after a long day of activities.  MMmmmm.  To go the extra step of making it a perfect meal, make a peach cobbler or cherry pie in a dutch oven with the same coals.
