Hunters take 161,057 deer; harvest up 16 percent

Preliminary results through the third weekend show that the number of deer registered was up 16 percent from 2016. Ohio hunters harvested 1,053 wild turkeys during the 2017 fall wild turkey season, open in 67 counties from Oct. 14 to Nov. 26.
