Conservation website upgrades for mobile app security

By Missouri Department of Conservation

Department of Conservation website users are encouraged to update their computer browser versions before Jan. 17 while the Department upgrades its website and mobile apps for increased security.

The security measures affect users of its permit-purchasing website and free mobile apps– MO Hunting and MO Fishing at https://mdc-web.s3licensing.com/ and https://mdc.mo.gov/butpermits.

“Following a recent update to the internet and Payment Card Industry compliance standards, anyone accessing our permit-sales site will be required to use an internet browser that supports these changes,” said Permit Services Supervisor Nathan Bess.

“PCI compliance governs the information that is transferred during an online transaction. These changes are necessary to protect our customers’ information. Users will be impacted if they are not operating with the latest versions of some browsers,” he added.

Missouri website users are encouraged to update their browser versions.

Browser versions no longer supported by the permit website beginning Jan. 17 include Internet Explorer Version 10 or less, Google Chrome Version 29 or less, Mozilla Firefox Version 27 or less, and Safari Version 6 or less.

Android users of the Department’s MO Hunting and MO Fishing apps will need to have at least version 5.0 to continue using the apps. Users with Apple phones and other Apple mobile devices will not be affected.
