Peak 44 Blacktooth Rifle Stock

Introducing Peak 44. New to the outdoor accessories market, Peak 44 is focused on delivering premium ultra-lightweight products for backcountry hunters and adventurers. Their first offering to hit the market is the Blacktooth carbon fiber stock – the lightest production carbon fiber stock in the industry.

Starting at under 20 ounces, the Blacktooth is packed with cutting-edge features and materials, combining extreme light weight with recoil mitigation and one of the most stable bedding platforms ever devised for a stock this light.

To provide the benefits of an aluminum bedding block but without the bulk and weight, Peak 44 developed the patent-pending Rock Solid Carbon Link which, as the name implies, links both sides of the stock together and works in conjunction with a set of aluminum pillars.

The RSCL engages the recoil lug of the action and allows Peak 44 to employ lighter weight materials than similar stocks, while having an incredibly stiff and stable platform into which rifles can be bedded. By orienting the fibers along the axis of their greatest strength, the RSCL is stronger than an aluminum bedding block while being a fraction of the weight.

Managing recoil for the Blacktooth is the available 3DHEX recoil pad. This one-of-a-kind pad is the first in the industry to be 3D printed at a production level. Using a honeycomb pattern of collapsible voids, it draws out the time component of recoil, taking away the sharp kick. With the same amount of recoil spread out over a much greater amount of time, the feel to the shooter isn't just noticeable – it's surprisingly pleasant, even with some of the hottest cartridges on the market. The Blacktooth stock is also available with a standard rubber pad.

The Blacktooth is initially offered in a number of inlets based around the Remington 700, the Weatherby Mark V and the Weatherby Vanguard/Howa 1500. With a variety of camouflage and decoration options to choose from as well as several recoil pads, the Blacktooth starts at an MSRP of $649.
