198" Felled in Arkansas

Stella Sims holds Arkansas' #7 spot in BTR's irregular category for compound bow after felling this 198 7/8-inch bruiser of a buck last November, and it's the largest white-tailed deer (all categories) taken with a compound bow by a woman, ever, in The Natural State.

The 18-pointer sports a 21-inch inside spread, and its left antler's typical points alone were nearly 17 inches longer than the right side.

In total, the rack included 20 5/8 inches of irregular points, all sprouting from the left antler.

198In the 20-plus years Stella's family has hunted this private parcel, this buck is the biggest taken by a longshot. She and her son both had encounters with the deer over the last three years, and both elected to pass it up and let it keep growing.

Stella credits her son for teaching her the ins and outs of shooting a bow a decade ago and says she felt confident making the 26-yard shot on this stud less than an hour before last light.

Buckmasters Scorer Steve Lucas got his hands on this buck during a local scoring event at Simmons Sporting Goods in March 2023.
