Most of you probably practice using a square, compressed-foam target. They're great. They last a long time, and arrows pull free easily. But shooting at square or bag targets feels different from shooting at a deer shape. At least a week or so before season, practice shooting at deer targets. If you have the means, purchase a 3-D type deer target. If money is tight, visit the local 3-D range a time or two. Another option is to use paper deer over your traditional practice target. Anything that gets you used to the feeling of picking a spot on a deers vitals and making a smooth release is a big plus come hunting season. Practice makes perfect and it can make all the difference in the world when that big buck is coming your way.
