The first weekend in October, my dad took my mom and me on our very first hunt to Tiger Island Outfitters to hunt trophy hogs.
My dad worked with my mom and me for a couple of weeks before the hunt so that we were able to shoot straight and accurate. He also taught us the right place to shoot the animal. It is a hunt I will never forget.
It was the first animal I had ever harvested. It was a great experience for me and my mom who also got to take her first animal. I thanked my dad for being so kind to help me to learn to shoot and take an animal the proper way. My first hog weighed 145 pounds and had 2-inch teeth. I shot him with my dad’s .30-30 rifle.
My dad is also a member of Buckmasters and I told him I was ready to get my first deer, hopefully this fall hunting season. I hope he has time because he does not get much time to hunt but when he does he asks me if I care to go along.
