The Buckmasters Top Bow Indoor World Championship will undergo some exciting changes for 2011, making one of the most fun and exciting archery events in the country even better!
This year, the qualifiers and championship will be held at one event at the 2011 Buckmasters Expo Aug. 18-21. What that means for shooters is there’s only one event to travel to, and just one entry fee.
And while the total payout of prizes hasn’t gone down, Buckmasters completely restructured the payouts to include cash down to 20th place in the World Championships.
“We know folks are still struggling in this economy,” Buckmasters founder Jackie Bushman said. “It’s tough to get away for two separate events, and it’s tough to pay two separate entry fees. We wanted to find a way to make the event affordable, and also to give more shooters a chance to win some cash. These changes are going to add an air of excitement to the event that’s been missing for the shooters outside the top eight. It’s going to be a lot more fun for the shooters, their families and the fans, too.”
The new combined event will include two mini-qualifiers with prizes and payouts. The top 48 archers from the qualifiers then advance to the World Championship rounds.
Entry fee for the event is $450, and there is no additional fee if you move on to the World Championships.
“We wanted to put more fun in the event, and also make it affordable for even the weekend shooter,” Bushman said. “With these changes, a guy or gal who wants to see what this is all about can do so without going broke, and even someone who finishes in 20th place is going to get their entry fee back.”
