-- New Season Texas Hunting/Fishing Licenses Go On Sale Aug. 15
Texas hunting and fishing licenses for 2009-2010 will go on sale Saturday, Aug. 15. Sportsmen are reminded all current Texas annual hunting and fishing licenses (except for the year-to-date fishing license) expire Aug. 31. A news release detailing license changes, plus information on how and where to buy licenses, will go out early next week.
What’s New For 2009-2010 Hunting/Fishing
A brief summary of key changes to hunting and fishing regulations and licenses for the coming season is on the TPWD Web site (http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/regulations/changes10.phtml). An electronic version of the 2009-2010 Outdoor Annual covering all Texas hunting and fishing and license details for the season that starts Sep. 1 is also online as a pdf file
(http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/publications/nonpwdpubs/media/regulations_summary_2009_2010.pdf). Full Web page versions of the 2009-2010 regulations will go live after new licenses go on sale Aug. 15, replacing the current 2008-2009 season information. Hard copies of the Outdoor Annual booklet will be available by Aug. 15 at all license retailers.
TPW Commission Meets In Fort Worth Aug. 26-27
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission will hold its August meeting and the department’s annual public hearing Aug. 26-27 in Fort Worth. Holding the meeting outside Austin continues an effort to increase public input and transparency in government. The department has invited key stakeholders in North Texas to the meeting, which will take place at the Amon G. Carter, Jr. Exhibit Hall in the Will Rogers Memorial Center, 3401 W. Lancaster in central Fort Worth in the city’s cultural district.
Starting at 9 a.m. Wed., Aug. 26, the regulations, conservation and finance committees of the commission will meet, followed at noon by lunch and executive session business, then at 2 p.m. will commence the annual public hearing. At 9 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, the full commission will meet. Due to technical limitations, live Web audio of the meeting will not be available. The meeting agenda will be posted on the TPWD Web site, where basic meeting info is already shown (http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/business/feedback/meetings/).
