ToxonicsToxonics K953 Archery Sight

Toxonics is marking its 31st year of building bow sights with a dramatic new lineup, including a Top Dog K953 anodized in brown, black or pewter that puts a big, 55mm machined aluminum guard around three Super Tough Metal Optic Pins.

The large pin guard allows the florescent green aim ring to be visible through a peep even on the shortest axle-to-axle bows. The guard has an integral level and is scalloped to lighten it, then tapped to accept an optional light. This sight collects natural light with the best of them because the red, green and yellow aim points are each fed by 14 inches of size .029 fiber optic, coiled in a spool protected within the body of the sight.

ToxonicsAt the heart of this model are Toxonic's new Metal Optic pins that combine a tough steel blade with a brilliant fiber optic tube fully supported in a channel along its entire length. The half-moon-shaped pins are no wider in the hunter's view than the thin rods they replace, yet far stronger. "The Metal Optic pin's entire housing is machined from a piece of solid steel," Designer and President Scott Slates explained. "That eliminates the fear that threads will be stripped from them or that the pin body will break as it can when it's made from plastic. The revolutionary Metal Optic pins provide uncompromised hunting performance in rough, brushy terrain and virtually eliminate the need for replacement pins."

So the K953 sight can be compact and still provide the range of adjustment needed for different bow designs and shooting styles, it incorporates a reversible offset extension bar. You can flip it over to raise or lower the sight on the bow and still have plenty of useful range on the elevation slide. The windage slide is also reversible so this sight will fit different bow risers without the need for spacers or shims under the sight mounting bar. And here's another bonus when you choose Toxonic: this new model is being anodized in three colors: black, brown and pewter. The brown complements many camo patterns while the pewter is color matched to the hardware on the popular Mathews Switchback models.

Toxonics' other new models for 2006 include three and five pin K9 versions that incorporate tool less adjustments, micro-adjust features and/or magnification. Crossbreed models combine the same tough Metal Optic horizontal pins with a vertical steel reference pin.
