Is the Rut In Effect in the MD/ North East Region?
If you're talking about the NE region of Ontario (Ottawa Valley), I'd say yes. It got going really late in these parts this year...didn't see any signs of the rut kicking in until the 14th and the peak seemed to be around the 18th - 21st. That's a good 10 days later than normal.
We had a long, dark summer, and a friend of mine (biologist) says that this might have thrown photoperiodism out of whack.
