those ranches you see that manage their herd are Millionaires with thousands of acres and spend tens of thousands of dollars on food plots. their herd management has an impact on the herd and it shows. You can't do that with a few hundred acres unless you get the neighbors in on it. Plus they get to hunt over baited areas, seen jeff Foxworthy whack a monster buck and it ran by a standing feeder as it made its death run . ( sorry if this sparks a baiting debate but that takes away from real hunting if you ask me)
I'm not into baiting either,It"s not legal here in Pa., But do you ever hunt in Oak ,Hickory,or Beech stands (forrest),That isn't much different than hunting over bait !!! If you hunt over bait,that you put out to attract deer,then you are baiting, When you are hunting Oak,Hickory,or Beech stands,then GOD is baiting for you!!!!!
