Public comment sought on increasing Georgia alligator permits

-- A public hearing April 14 seeks Georgia residents’ comments on a proposed change to alligator hunting regulations by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.

The proposed change would increase the quota of available alligator hunting permits from 700 to 850, increasing the number of opportunities in all alligator hunting zoned areas of the state.

The hearing will be April 14 at 7 p.m. in the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, Ag Sciences Building Room 137, 2802 Moore Highway in Tifton. Those attending are encouraged to be concise to allow all an opportunity for everyone to speak.  

Those unable to attend the hearing can mail written comments by May 7 to: Georgia Wildlife Resources Division, Attn: John Bowers, 2070 US Hwy. 278 SE, Social Circle, GA 30025.
