Old Timer's Slick Trick

Old Timer's Slick TrickI started Bow hunting 46 years ago with wooden arrows and a longbow. Much has changed since then.

One thing that hasn't changed is I still lose an arrow occasionally. When I find it weeks or months later, I'm still able to remove the field point or broadhead, thanks to an old tip.

Check Out Our Video TipsI put a little Vaseline petroleum jelly on the threads of my field points and broadheads.

This prevents rust in the event I hunt in bad weather or I lose an arrow for a time.

The Petroleum jelly is odorless, yet it prevents rust and acts as a lubricant when it comes time to remove the point.

I started doing this in 1966, and it has saved many expensive arrows and broadheads over the years.
