-- New Jersey's spring turkey permit applications open Jan. 25 and can be completed online or by going to any license agent.
The application period remains open until Feb. 22, and applicants can review and edit their applications online until the application period closes.
The 2011 NJ Wild Turkey Hunting Season Information booklet is available online.
Award notification and the ability to claim awarded permits begins March 7. Successful lottery applicants have from March 7 until March 28 to claim awarded permits. Unclaimed permits are forfeited and become available for sale during the over-the-counter sales.
Qualified farmers can claim a Spring Turkey farmer permit beginning March 7. Leftover and unclaimed Spring Turkey Permits go on April 4 on a first come, first served basis until the season ends or the permit quota is met.
