All Americans should have the right to bear arms. That is a concept that our Founding Fathers held so dear, that it was the second thing listed in the Bill of Rights. Throughout history governments have relied on the ability to disarm it's citizens in order to control the people. We as Americans can never let this happen to us. Be leery of officials who want more gun laws in order to "curb crime". We have enough gun laws on the books to fight every crime there is. What we need is education. Everyone, and I do mean everyone, should have the right to own firearms. We must allow all persons who show a responsible lifestyle to own guns. If a person was convicted of felony, and at least ten years has passed since he or she "paid thier debt" and has no other infraction of the law, then even thier right to own guns should be re-instated. I was a police officer for more than 20 years. Good people make mistakes. Everyone deserves another chance in life. Keep the 2nd Amendment alive. Support the right to "keep and bear arms".

The second amendment does not give the state or the government or the military the right to keep and bear arms.It gives the people the right to keep and bear arms.People are individuals.
