-- The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will conduct a hunter education apprentice volunteer instructor training class in Mitchell, Neb., Feb. 23.
The apprentice instructor classes are required for those interested in becoming a volunteer hunter education instructor.
In Nebraska, state law requires anyone 12 years or older, born on or after Jan. 1, 1977, to have successfully completed a state-certified hunter education course prior to hunting with a firearm.
Streeter said firearm hunter education apprentice instructor training class will be 9 a.m.-noon at Mitchell Trap Club, south of Mitchell on Nebraska Highway 29 to Hawk Road. Space is limited.
