NE hunters reminded to use check stations

From Nebraska Game and Parks Commission

-- Rifle hunters and archers harvesting deer during Nebraska’s November firearm season are reminded they must deliver their deer to a manual check station.

Hunters, including archers, must deliver their deer to a check station no later than 1 p.m. on the day following the close of the seasons. The firearm season runs from Nov. 12 to 20l, and the season for Earn-a-Buck unit firearm permit holders is Nov. 12 to 22.

The electronic checking system, known as Telecheck, will be unavailable during the nine-day November firearm season. Earn-a-Buck hunters should continue to use check stations during the entire Earn-a-Buck season.

Game and Parks biologists will collect biological data, such as teeth, lymph nodes and tissue samples, at check stations in many areas of the state. The November firearm season is the best time to gather this data.
