From the Mississippi Dept. of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks
-- The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks is sponsoring a youth shotgun clinic to sight-in and pattern firearms. It will be held at Turcotte Education and Shooting Facility Feb. 27 from 8 a.m. to noon.
This clinic is available to youth aged 12 to 15 and a parent or guardian must be present.
Youth turkey season opens March 6.
Youngsters must bring their own firearm and appropriate ammunition. The maximum number for the class is 15, so early sign-up is advised.
Instructor will be firearms professional John Satterwhite. The free clinic is made available by the MDWFP and funding provided by a grant from the National Shooting Sports Foundation. For more information, contact John Satterwhite at (601) 432-2062.
