From Minnesota Department of Natural Resources
-- Women who want to experience archery, fishing and other outdoor activities are invited to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources' (DNR) Becoming An Outdoors Woman (BOW) fall workshop Sept. 12-14, at Gunflint Lodge near Grand Marias.
The event includes fishing, canoeing, horseback riding, orienteering, upland bird dog training and other skills classes.
"This workshop is a wonderful opportunity for women to learn outdoor sports in a friendly, supportive environment," said Linda Bylander, BOW coordinator. "It's open to women age 14 and older."
Bylander said participants select three classes for their weekend experience. Lodging, meals, instruction, equipment and evening entertainment are included in the workshop fee. Workshop space is limited. Scholarships are available.
To register, contact Gunflint Lodge at 1-800-328-3325.
