From LaCrosse Footwear, Inc.
-- LaCrosse Footwear helped raise $20,450 for the Marine Corps Family Foundation through the Danner and LaCrosse performance sock sale at the Shooting, Hunting, Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show in January.
The Marine Corps Family Foundation (MCFF) assists deployed Marines, sailors, soldiers, airmen and their families through support organizations, projects, volunteer support and donations.
"LaCrosse Footwear is honored to support such an important foundation," said Joseph P. Schneider, president and CEO of LaCrosse Footwear, Inc. "We truly appreciate the dedication and service of the Marines and their families who give so much to protect our country. We feel that it's important to help support our brave men and women in uniform through organizations like the Marine Corps Family Foundation."
This is the third consecutive year that LaCrosse has donated socks, raising more than $50,000 for charities at SHOT Show. Over 1,700 pairs of socks were made available to SHOT Show attendees for a suggested donation of $3 with LaCrosse Footwear's commitment to match initial sock sale donations.
In addition, the George and Virginia Schneider Charitable Foundation agreed to double total donations, providing a grand total of more than $20,450 in donations to MCFF.
Former LaCrosse Footwear Board Chairman George Schneider and his wife Virginia developed the Foundation based on their strong belief in giving back to the community.
"On behalf of our many volunteers, we salute the George and Virginia Schneider Charitable Foundation and LaCrosse Footwear for their generous donation," said Connie Riecke, founder and executive director of MCFF.
"I know first hand the impact our foundation has on our men and women serving in combat zones, the wounded warriors, and for their families left behind. This contribution is a tangible means of direct support and a definite morale booster for our Marines."
