From Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks
-- Applications for permits to hunt antelope in 2008 have been mailed to last year's applicants. For those who did not apply last year, printed applications are available at offices of the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP).
Applications are also available on the KDWP website, www.kdwp.state.ks.us, and applications may be filed online.
The application deadline is June 13 for muzzleloader and firearm permits; archery permits may be purchased through Oct. 30.
Archery season is Sept. 20-28 and Oct. 11-31. Muzzleloader permit holders may hunt Sept. 29-Oct. 6. Firearms season is Oct. 3-6.
Thirty-eight muzzleloader and 114 firearm permits are available this year. Only Kansas residents are eligible for muzzleloader and firearm permits. Unlimited archery permits are available, and recent trends indicate that about 190 residents will obtain permits to bowhunt antelope this year.
Nonresidents may also purchase archery antelope permits. Seven nonresident archery permits were issued in 2007, and a similar number is anticipated this year.
