If the deer on your property are beginning to lose interest in your bait pile or salt and mineral blocks, try making it interesting to them again by using a trick I've used for some time now.
There's something about the smell of vanilla that does not spook deer. They are very curious animals and are attracted by this scent for some reason.
I like to make my own homemade vanilla spray by mixing a cheap vanilla extract with water and shaking it up in an old spray bottle, then spraying it on my bait piles and salt blocks.
You'll want to make the solution about 50 percent water and 50 percent vanilla extract, so find a large generic brand bottle of vanilla extract, because the name brands can be a bit pricey.
I also like to use my homemade spray as a cover scent to spray on my boots, clothing and the area surrounding my stand.
Many scent companies label vanilla as a curiosity scent, and I believe you can take advantage of a deer's curious nature in order to add more venison to your table.
