Merino sheep are widely regarded for producing the finest, softest wool available. And merino wool provides the best warmth-to-weight ratio of any other wool.

The tightly packed merino wool fibers can hold up to 30 percent of their weight in moisture without feeling damp, and wool - unlike cotton - retains body warmth when wet.

Merino fibers also draw moisture to the outer layer to evaporate, and are naturally resistant to odor, static and stains.

The shell of this jacket is 100-percent merino wool 220-gram knitted fleece. The lining in the two front panels is 100-percent polyester high-count tricot knit.

It has a zip front with a YKK zipper, two zippered hand-warmer pockets, one zippered chest pocket and a shock-corded waist.
