From the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission
-- The application process for Nebraska's deer, antelope and elk big game permits opens May 16 at 1 p.m. Central Time.
Deer hunters - Residents may apply for one permit in any draw unit. These include Republican Mule Deer and Republican Whitetail permits, as well as DeSoto December Muzzleloader permits.
Antelope hunters - Residents and eligible landowners may apply for one buck or either-sex permit in available units. These include all antelope firearm and muzzleloader permits.
Elk hunters - Residents and eligible landowners may apply for one permit. This includes all elk permits.
Draw units are determined by demand on a unit's permits. They are established to provide equal opportunity to obtain permits in those units.
The drawing for permits takes place in June at a date to be named later. Beginning July 11, hunters may purchase any remaining deer, antelope or elk permits through the end of the seasons.
Unit maps and hunting regulations will be available to download at http://outdoornebraska.ne.gov/.
