From ThermaCell
-- ThermaCELL, manufacturer of the only portable, butane-powered, area mosquito repellent line of products, has introduced a patio lantern for 2008. The new lantern can be used as a source of light, a mosquito repellent, or for both purposes simultaneously.
The lantern provides not only unmatched protection from biting insects, but ambient outdoor lighting for camping, hunting, fishing, and the backyard as well.
The ThermaCELL lantern is silent and odor free, and has no messy wax. It operates on a single butane cartridge, which heats a mat releasing allethrin, an insect repellent that is a synthetic copy of a natural insecticide found in chrysanthemum flowers, creating a 15 x 15-foot comfort zone.
Each mat contains enough repellent for four hours of protection and each butane cartridge will operate the unit for 12 hours.
The product comes with one butane cartridge and two repellent mats, is 7 inches tall and 5.5 inches wide at the widest point. The lantern will be available at mass merchants, hardware stores, and outdoor retailers beginning spring 2008 and will have a suggested retail price of $29.99.
