A Sonic for the Crossbow

American Broadhead Company

-- In the old days, a crossbow delivered a quick end to game at 20 to 30 yards since the bolt’s momentum routinely dropped off at 35 yards. However, American Broadhead Company believed that a heavier broadhead could be made to improve penetration at a greater distance when fired from a crossbow.

They designed, tested and produced the Bolt Sonic Broadhead – a three-bladed, 150-grain broadhead that includes all the great American Broadhead features that will extend your crossbow's knockdown power past 40 yards.

You don’t have to be physics major to know that adding extra weight to the broadhead increases a bolt’s momentum. Increasing the weight to 150 grains adds more front-of-center mass, causing the bolt to bend slightly more at release, but regain its straightness in flight. Tested at 40 yards, this broadhead produced 3-inch groups at 350-plus fps.

American Broadhead’s technology combines the increased weight of the stainless steel blades with cut-on-impact design. The three, equiangular (120 degrees apart) blades are flatter than most blades, so they encounter less turbulence in their silent flight to your intended prey. Upon impact, Zero Plane Technology takes over and the blades unite under the force of impact to improve penetration.

Testing shows that the blades come together and stay together while cutting through bones and flesh. Even on tough game, the .36-inch blades, aka “shooting steak knives,” make a clean pass without picking up tissue along the way. A Dense Max thermal treatment adds the finishing touch to each blade, allowing it to hold its edge better than any other blades on the market.

American Broadheads exhibit quality craftsmanship – with all-steel construction that's machined in 7075-T6 alloy. The patented front-locking portion in the ferrules contain 800 percent more metal holding in each blade.

The CNC-machined ferrules and corresponding retaining nuts rank at least 10 times more concentric than competitors’ components.

American BroadheadNow hunting enthusiasts can increase their shooting area, keep a tight group at 40 yards and hunt effectively – farther and faster than ever before – with a crossbow and the new American Broadhead Bolt Sonic broadhead.
