New Bushnell Scout 1000 Offers ARC Technology

Bushnell Corp.From Bushnell Corp.

-- Angle Range Compensation (ARC) laser rangefinder technology from Bushnell has been embraced by both bow and rifle hunters. ARC not only increases accuracy for bow hunters by providing true horizontal distance when shooting at steep angles, but it also eliminates the guesswork in determining holdover on long-range rifle shots.

The ARC feature is now available in the new Scout 1000. With a more compact, vertical design, the Scout 1000 ARC will range deer to 325 yards, trees and other large objects to 650 yards and highly reflective objects to 1,000 yards.

The key to ARC technology is an inclinometer with +/- one degree accuracy that measures shooting angles and their effect on both arrow and bullet trajectory. The Scout 1000 ARC has two primary modes - Bow and Rifle - to determine angle and true range.

In the Bow Mode, bow hunters can determine the true horizontal distance from 5 to 99 yards with shooting angles of -60 to +60 degrees when shooting uphill, downhill or from a treestand.

Rifle hunters taking extreme uphill or downhill shots can determine the necessary "hold-over" from 100 to 800 yards. In the Rifle Mode, the Scout 1000 has built-in ballistic groups that let rifle hunters match their rifle caliber and bullet weight for maximum accuracy.

The Scout 1000 ARC has a 24mm objective, multi-coated optics and a 5x eyepiece with adjustable diopter to provide bright, crisp images at any distance.  There are BullsEye, Brush and Scan modes to accommodate different shooting conditions. Power is supplied by a 3-volt battery included with product.

The Scout 1000 ARC is compact, fitting easily in a pack or pocket, and can be operated with just one hand. Suggested retail price is $299. It is available in black and Realtree AP Camo at Bushnell dealers nationwide.
