Sam D. Hamilton nominated for USFWS Director

-- Sam D. Hamilton has been nominated by President Obama to be the next U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service director. If confirmed by the U.S. Senate, Hamilton would assume the position last held by Dale Hall.
Hamilton is a career biologist and manager who has been with the service for 30 years. In 1997 he was appointed Southeast Regional Director in Atlanta, serving as senior operating executive with responsibility for a $484 million budget and a 1,500-person workforce covering 10 states and the Caribbean.
Among his responsibilities was overseeing the recovery and restoration of wetlands, wildlife refuges and other habitat following the Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. He is a graduate of Mississippi State University. Print Article |
