| If you've been reading my other hog hunting post, you would know that I've been after this guy for over a month now. Got him at 3:30am this morning with no moonlight. Weighed in at 210 lbs.

Thanks for compliments guys. He was field dressed in this photo which would explain the wrinkling in the hindquarters. I pulled the tusks this morning, the wetters were 6 1/4 " long. Face may look "unique" from me holding the head from under the chin.
As for the story on the rifle, it's one of my homemade AR-15's with a 20 rd mag. Shooting a 55 grain Reminton PSP (power soft point I think). And that is a BSA red dot scope on top with a pvc adapter I made that allows me to slip my nightvision monocular into it. I leave the adapter on during daytime use just because it doesn't interfere with sighting. When night falls, I remove the pinhole lens from my monocular and slide it into the adapter and lock it down. The red dot shows up as a white dot in the scope and the big benefit is that there is no additional magnification and that this particular red dot sight has a large objective lens which allows plenty of tlight to enter the night vision device.
Pig is hanging at a local meat processors right now. Having it cut into bacon, ribs, pork cube steak, whole tenderloin and mild sage sausage.
A few more big hogs came in after this guy but never close enogh to close the deal. There will be folow up night hunt in the next few weeks and then it's deer season.

| z3z528.... night vision with infared illuminators, but a spot would work too. Hogs are really wary and don't stare at the light like deer. When using a spotlight you have to be sure he's in the open before you switch it on and be very fast once you do aquire them.
Rebel... yea, I use dogs occasionally. It's just too hot right now and I don't run dogs unless they are wearing a vest. Check out my other post in "Other game" under " I wanna be first...hog pics" for some pics of my success with dogs.

| I went Saturday night and they never showed up. I'll probably try again this upcoming Friday.
I worked on food plots and hanging treestands Saturday before the hunt and I made the mistake of not wearing boots with pants cuffs tucked in. Now I 've got chigger bites covering both legs. Been scratching non-stop since !!
