maybe you aren't getting any replies because a lot of the guys who did that job for there country don't like to think of what they had been told to do.many of the guys that actually did the job had a hard time removing the memories(horrors)of war ;the guys who brag usually weren't involved-the guys who cry remembering ,were there(p/s I wasn't- my friends were,I have listened to thier stories usually after many beers &tears)I was Viet Nam era ,the stories of them hurting thier wives and kids for moving in bed at night are sad .these are the things that need to be known about our warriors.not the glamourization of the horrible acts of war.Viet Nam was along time ago and the ones who were lost weren't always on foriegn soil (suicide -death by dishonor) so go easy they don't like to remember--just my opinion

You are absolutely right Dennis,Most Vets wont talk about their service,The guys that brag about what they did, probably didn't see any action. I was on a web forum that had a place just for ex- military personal. One guy stated that there are more Navy Seals today, than the number of guys that actually graduated from Seal training !!!! Everybody wants to be a hero, but if you are lieing about your service to this Great Country, you're really a ZERO!!!!!!!

yeah I made it to the part in the movie where they ran butterfly runs up the hill before breakfast and knew them people were "nuts" My job in the Navy was aviation electricians mate stationed in Memphis Tn -I worked in the training school (AEA school ;) issuing tools for the students in the final phase of school -not much there to write about -

stubs,do a search on special forces, you should be able to find most of the info you need.....SF uses a vast list of weapons, both our own and other countrys.Nobody in SF(or Ex-SF will ever tell you about any Ops they were in,ALL SF ops are classified at a mininuim Top Secret,so are most Ranger ops,All Delta,an most Airborne ops(82nd)

Your best bet stubs, is to do a little research online and in the library to get your info. Unfortunatley for you the subject your intrested in draws a very thin line. There are plenty of recources around to get info for your paper, but its highly unlikely you will find a SF soldier willing to give much information to you. Some of what the others have said is one reason,,mostly though,,because they cant! Especially the current soldiers. Very serious charge if they discuss operations outside of group affairs. Even to their spouses. They are called silent professionals for a reason. Sorry i couldnt help more.

on second thought, maybe you would be better off to write about the SeaBee's or the Army Engineers. They don't do classified ops,but they both get to blow stuff up now an again
