hey guys i just got a 1987 toyota 4x4 but i dont know how to use the 4wd could you help me all i know is you gotta lock it in on the hubs any help would be great 
thanx!!!

Get outta the truck and turn the hubs to the locked position. Next get back in truck and put range selector in 4H or 4L, you are now in 4WD. reverse the procedure to disengage. You may also have to drive about 10ft in reverse after you disengage the 4WD some trucks it is necessary some it is not. While in 4WD find the biggest mudhole and bury it, t6hen go buy a CHEVY. LOL

Just like lordmercury said. Turn the hubs to lock, shift it to 4hi/4lo, then go find some mud.

we went out and played with it yesterday and my dad slid into our van trying to drive over a hill on ice we are gonna try again tomorrow

lol that was a good one lordmercury, I like chevys, fords and toyotas, dont have a truck yet but been looking at the toyato tundra, wana get it 4x4 then put a 6-8 inch lift on it with some 36in superswamper ironx, Oh and maybe a roll cage

4WD will not help you on ICE, unless tires are studded or you have chains on it. A 2WD with weight in the rear will fair much better on ice than a 4WD without studs or chains.
