| I guess I just need to vent a little bit about the current membership drive at Buckmasters...
In the last 6 days I have received 9 calls from Buckmasters about renewing my membership. Right from the first call I received I told them that I like to renew annually because of whatever trinket they may be giving away at the time or whatever. I was told "absolutely no problem and thanks for your membership". When the second call came I was "no big deal" I know they have a lot going on. Third call I started to get annoyed and asked to have them stop calling about the membership. I was told again "no problem, we'll update your information and remove you from the list". Now after the fifth & sixth calls I was really starting to get mad about this because they are now calling between 7:00 pm & 8:00 pm, besides the fact that the calls are being placed to my cell phone and it's costing me money to get these calls. Yesterday while in a meeting, I get another call. I not so politely tell them that I'm going to tell Buckmasters to "stick everything where the sun doesn't shine if they keep calling". The lady on the phone was very polite and again assured me that they would update my information and I would not be contacted again. Well well well, today before noon I've received calls #7 & #8. This time I was not so polite and apologized to the nice operator on the phone for what I was about to do before I started my rant. I basically told her that if I had a contact number to Jackie Bushman or the corporate offices &I would be on the phone immediately to tell them exactly what I think of the way they are running the membership drive & immediately cancel my membership! Seeing as I don’t have those numbers, I figured I’d "blow off a little steam" here before I do lose my mind and cancel everything. !!!!
Sorry about the negativity, I love this forum and all of the good people and information associated with it, I just needed to vent!!!

| I had this problem and with caller id it showed a 800#.
I called them back and told them the story and no more calls.

| lol...Trey.You are preaching to the choir about this,but your right!....Okay folks,I'll let ya'll in on the secret,about the membership drive phone calls and just how they work.
#1 as members we all get asked from time to time to submit names and phone numbers for them to call,about possible peolpe that might want to join,usually there is some kind on contest or gift,that you/we recieve in return.I used to turn in about 20 or 50 names in every year.LOL...(I was really bad about turning antihunter names or antigun people,I had a blast with that one,till Chris Chastain called me at home,an asked me to stop,I'd turned in Bill & Hillary's name that year while he was presidentent)
#2,ya'll need to pay attention to this one!Okay this board/website gets looked at by hundreds of guests everyday,24-7.Don't believe me watch the counter at the bottom of your screen sometime.Each and everytime YOU,enter a contest,YOU have to give contact info,thats the second way they get your name(trust me I know,theres a story to this part I'll get in a minute)What ya'll forget is this IS a business based website.Now the computer that runs these contests,doesn't know if you are a member or not,because there isn't a click box for existing members to use for Buckmasters to separeate you from.
Okay heres the story,I am a life member have been for years.Anyway about a year ago,Buckmasters had a rash of prizes that are/were on my wish list,stuff you want but are way to tight to buy for yourself.So I entered about once a day,I did this for weeks.LOL...then the phone started ringing and ringing and ringing(pretty soon I was prudy PO"D with saying I am a member allready.(now for another tip...some of these calls are outsourced,ie;the caller is from India,an you can't catch but every 10th word)Finally I got a guy that was American,when he called I was feed upand more than ready to screw with somebody's head,I let him go on an on about a member,benefits about a membership the whole spill...finally I dropped the whammy,I'm a life member and to please hurry up an ship my prizes.He got a kick out of it.Anyway he got to talking and told me as long as I kept entering the contests,I would KEEP getting calls and there wasn't anything he could do about it.(moral...if you don't want calls don't enter the contests or become a life member,there is not much,the teleamakerkteers can offer you on the phone)
#3 in the upper section of this forum,there are a lot of clicky boxs,YOU use one of them to get on this forum.If you have a complaint/rant,click the one that says"CUSTOMER SERVICE".It has all the contact info there,hours of operation,phone numbers.The guy that runs that department is Chris Chastain,or at least he did last time I looked a few months ago.But even if he doesn't answer your call personally he has some bright and willing folks working for him,they will bend over backwards to help you!(they get paid to do that,ya know)
#4 if you have a rant,let it be about something that we the members CAN help you with.If it's something that we can't help you with,then YOU need to PM,Chuck,Ken Pipper or somebody that works in the office,that can help you with your problem or better yet,get off your duff an CALL the office.It doesn't need to be BLASTED on the boards.
#5 now while I'm on my rant/words of wisedom,the post about the collections thingy(either this thread or another,I'm not gonna bother looking,to be PC correct)they can't actually do that the way the thread implys.But no matter,I'll refur you to the #4(look up,please).
#6 by and by,most folks just want to visit and get along.But being that everybody is diverse as the world is large,you have to allow for differences of point of view,but some on here always manage to go overboard about Dissing (I think that's how my 13 yr old,described it)the board.Guess what ya'll , ain't nobody making you come here,go hang out at Field & Stream or someplace else.Guess what trolls ain't tolerated or welcomed there either.
