    Are there any websites that tell you when the pre-rut / rut are around your area are?  And maybe when to use what calls?

OR

how do you know when these things happen?


I know its a stupid question, but I never can tell and im sick of asking people and looking stupid!

Well first of all it depends on where you live, I live in Kansas and the rut is just now in full swing, and getting hotter with the cold weather we are having. As far as what calls to use it also depends on the conditions around you, and the time of the rut you are hunting, I hope this helps some. The biggest thing is to just get out there and see for your self.

I live in Alabama and the rut is just getting started,it's more like pre rut right now.Rut hits full swing after Christmas.

If you live in NJ I would guess the weather to be the about the same as mine in Ohio maybe a lil different but as a rule of thumb I always try to be in the woods on the 1st week of Nov. around here its seems to be the primetime. Also being out in the woods and checking for bucks chasing does is always a sure sign
