I think you'll find more veterans of deer hunting on here than you'll find novices. Over 35 years of experiences here, no brag, just fact.

I'm 42 & have been hunting most of my life.  When I was 4 or 5 I'd go coon hunting with my dad & he would carry me most of the night.  I loved it then & love it even more now.

been putting venison on the table now for 15 years, knock on wood there hasn't been a year yet where we haven't at least harvested a Doe for Meat. also took some impressive bucks for this neck o the woods.

To Hunt or Not to Hunt, that is the question? While your pondering that, i'll be in the woods. My Values are the Army Values; Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, Personal Courage.

I am pushing 53. I am still pretty fit and still love to hunt. I started hunting, if you can call it that, by tagging along behind my dad when I was about 5 or 6. My dad and I still hunt together and he is now 74. I started shooting a rifle, when dad would let me, at a pretty early age. I also ran around the farm shooting rabbits with a Ben Pearson stick bow. I believe it was a natural progression to go into archery deer hunting as a young man.
Experienced? You can be relatively young and still have a lot of experience. You can be relativley old and not have too much. I believe I am somewhere in the middle of that. i am on the high side of middle-aged. I have not traveled the world hunting exotic game, though I wanted to, but I do know my way around the woods and have taken a lot of game over the years. I have taken some nice deer but a lot of folks have nicer ones. I never considered myself a "trophy hunter." I was a "deer hunter" and every deer I ever took was a trophy to me and I can remember them all...I think.  I have a lot of good memories to share at the campfire with my hunting partners, dad, brothers, buddies.
Experienced? I think I could be called that but I sure hope I have many more years to add to my body of knowledge.

If it wouldn't a been good
I wouldn't a done it.
