I know you can customize a Remington 700 anyway you want ; but really what advantages ( other than 25% to 50% cost savings)  is/are there? Are the actions really any better? My 30.006 will be used for Moose, Black Bear, and maybe a few deer. Maybe a few range shootings for a total of 200 to 250 rounds a year...
I have shot/owned the following rifles:
1. Tikka SS syn stock 30.06, Bolt
2. Browning Bar .270, semi-auto
3. Husqvarna .270 Bolt
4. Steyr Mann .270 Bolt
It has not made any difference in my accuracy out to 200 or 300 yards....So my question is should I stay with the least expensive Remington 700 BDL 30.06 Bolt ( at $600); or ,blow the extra and get the Sako 75 Hunter Bolt 30.06 at ($900). ??

I have shot Ruger, remington, weatherby and winchester and can honestly say,I think your ammo and optics are the key and a good trigger

Thanks Tubby. Seem to agree about extra money on a good scope. Any scope that is good I have appreciated in low light Moose hunts up North. Especially at Daybreak and Sunset...Thanks, and I like your quote...
