What is the general recommendation for seed for nc?  I have never planted a food plot before.

I would encourage you to contact your county agent.  He/she should be able to help with this.  If they can't help talk to the person most knowledgable about such things at your local feed store, farmers supply or co-op.  And, if all else fails contact the company who is selling the seed variety you wish to plant.  Most companies have a rep who can help.  Good luck!
