I'm looking at  a Bushnell® Banner® Dusk & Dawn® Riflescope to mount on a .270 win in 3-9x40mm.  I will be hunting deer in New England....... but mostly CT.  I figure that that would be a good scope for a beginer that is a good price. (Only $80)  What are some other good brands of scopes that are cheap (nothing over $125).

Just buy the bushnell trust me I was a beginner 2 yrs ago and thats what I bought. It works great also invest in a pair of butler creek scope caps if you do stand hunting you just pop em open to shoot and when ur not using your gun they keep stuff out of the scope so when a big buck steps out you can see em.

I would vote for the Bushnell or Simmions.I have the Bushnell Banner on my 7mm,Bushnell Elite on my 270 and my son has a Simmions 8 point on his 7mm-08.All are very accurate and durable.
By far the Elite 3200 is the best,it's between $400 & $600.
The Simmions was around $75,the bushnell banner was $130 .

i'd say bushnell also. i've had a bushnell on my .243 for 18 years and i've only had to move it once, that bout 2 clicks to left. it's an odd size 3-9x38, the reason for this odd size is i wanted my scope as low as possible.

I have used both Bushnell and Simmons with great success, Another option is used on Ebay. I have bought several Leupold  for a good price. Any problem is covered by lifetime factory warranty.
