is a woodchuck the same as a groundhog or whistle pig?if so i use my 22 or 17 hmr.mainly so i don't tear them apart as they are good to eat.basicaly an oversized rabbit

it all depends on the situation.

if your going to hunt them and wait them out and wait for a good shot "like deer hunting", then an accurate small cal rifle or evan a .22 cal target style handgun would be go to weapons.

if you have to get rid of the thing because it already took out half you garden, id opt for a 12ga shotgun and a few traps. We have all watched caddy shack right? well sometimes ive felt like i was in that movie.

im shure they are very good eating, never did eat one, but if you think about it, that big fat cripper eats allot of good food.

I would surely go with the 17 hmr, or a 22 mag.
