I'm going to Colorado this fall on a early MZ elk hunt. Colorado says the powerbelt bullets are legal. I have a .50 cal TC encore. Any suggestions on bullets/combo's to try this spring/summer?

I would go with the powerbelts, they are awsome. 150 grains of powder pushing that bullet should have no problem on an elk. I use powerbelts on deer every year. except I shoot 100 grains of powder. I killed my biggest buck ever this year, at 125 yards with ease. good luck.

I could be wrong, but I think it is stated earlier that Colorado PROHIBITS the use of saboted bullets.  Hence, the need to use a bullet such as a Powerbelt.

How about a Maxi-ball or Maxi-hunter? They are heavy.

I don't think you can use Pellets or a scope.

Matter of fact I know you can't.

Have a buddy who hunts m/l Colorado every year he gets drawn.  Last year I sighted in his Encore for him.  Used the following recipe for elk with very good accuracy;
300 gr Powerbelts
120 gr loose Triple 7
3" high @ 75 yds
3.5" high @ 100 yds
3" low @ 150 yds
