I have ordered a box of 55 Gr accellerator rounds for a Remington 700 30-06 I just bought used at a very good price. I am planning on setting it up for coyotes. Has anyone had any experiance with this round?

No. I didn't know they made 55gr accelerator rounds for a 30-06. My guess would be that it should do well for coyotes.

You will definately want to spend some time at the range.  It is, however, an excellent round for varmints.
Muzzle velocity on the 55 gr is charted at 4080 fps vs 2910 fps on standard 150 gr rounds.

Do they make those in 270?

Does cranking up the speed on the round cause premature barrel wear? I'd imagine that you increase the speed, you increase the friction and wear.

lol they have a 30 caliber teflon sabot holding a 22 caliber bullet. i dont think there will be much barrel wear. you might be able to find some 270 sabots if you look hard enough and reload. as far as i know they only make them in 30 calliber in factory ammo. 30-30,308,and 3006.

Ah...I wasn't aware that it's a sabot round...That makes all the difference on wear and tear.
