Any info on this rifle. I just purchased one haven't had chance to try out yet. Also what grain ammo. I bought the 150 grain and the 130 grain. I'm new to hunting also to civilian weapons and ammo. I know military ammo and so far the only comparison I'm sure of the our 5.56mm is the same as the 223 civ. Whats your opinions on this rifle. Thanks.

alot of people are probably going to trash talk your rifle...just ignore them.i bought a 710 when they came out killed several deer and coyotes with it.then one day not paying attention i put the empty mag in backwards breaking the spring.i called rem. they informed me they were switching to the 710 to 770 and sent me a new 770 stock.mines a 30-06 and so far this year i've added 2 more coyotes to the mix all offhand shooting, the latest being a head shot @ 225 yards

My son liked the one he shot.I have heard good and bad things but all in all I think they are good rifles.I like the 130 or 140 Hornady SST ammo for my 270 (Ruger)

You'll do O.K. with that rifle, the 270 win. is a great cartridge, and will take anything on this Continent, except for maybe the largest bears! Have fun shooting it, and good luck hunting!

Gentlemen I thank you for your responses. Haven't had chance to get deer yet. Seems like all the deer have disapeared here on the North/South Carolina border. Maybe next year. For now I'll find a shooting range and get a lot of shooting in. Good luck in the woods and GOD bless.

PS Merry CHRISTmas to you and your families.
Thanks
