I just went out and got a new Mossberg rifle barreled slug gun and I wanted to know if I should buy rifled slugs or some other kind of bullets for it? My friend told me to buy sabots, but I never heard of them before. Any help is greatly appreciated.

YOU GOTTA WANT IT!!!!!

Sabots are made for rifled barrels.

Different brands of sabbots shoot differently and sabbots are quite expensive, The cheap rifled slugs will shoot almost as well but are not good for the barrel. I shoot both - trying to get the gun sighted in can be a real trick and some slug guns just simply are not accurate. My 12 ga rifled slug barrel shoots winchester 400 gr sabbots to point of aim at 100 and Federal sabbots fly 18 inches high, Win rifled cheap slugs make a 4 to 6 in pattern around the x and other brands of slugs - god only knows where they go and thats on a range. I stay out of the woods during slug gun season or hunt private land cause I know If I cant get my gun to shoot slugs with all the effort I place into it the rest of the guys out there bound to be having issues with inaccuracy. I went to 50 cal musket.

As stated before, If you want any kind of ACCURACY from your slug Barrel (RIFLED) you Must shoot Sabot's.
If you shoot Forster type Rifled slugs , from a rifled barrel ACCURACY WILL BE NON EXISTANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
