My father recently purchased the new T/C Triumph to use this year during the muzzleloader season. Since the majority of the shots that he takes are within 50yds and in the woods, he opted to not install a scope.
We went to the range last week and tried to sight his gun in at 50yds. The load was 100gr of triple seven and a 250gr bullet.
He couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with the barrel touching it.
After several shots it was determined that he was not hitting any of the targets that he was shooting at. We had placed four seperate targets on a large piece of cardboard so the corners of each target were almost touching.
I had dad give up on the seperate targets and aim for the center of the board so we could find where he was hitting. About a foot and half low and half a foot to the right.
We adjusted his sights and got the left/right where we wanted it to be. It took adjusting his rear sight all the way forward to get his gun to hit 6in low at 50yds. There is no more adjustment available with the rear sight to bring it higher.
Any advice????
We did clean the barrel after every shot and Dad is now considering a red dot if we cannot get his gun in tune.

S+ happens when they build stuff late Friday afternoon and first thing Monday morning, and sometimes these things need to go back to the factory. The store he bought it at is usually pretty good about sending stuff that doesnt work back to the factory and TC will make it right, their customer service has been quite good. As for the red dot idea Aimpoint is more expensive than most but well worth the investment. I prefer the 2 minute of angle dot that covers 2 inches at 100 yds but the one on my shotgun is a 4 moa dot that covers 4 inches at 100. The model 9000L attaches with two 30mm rings and is deadly on the fast moving deer you are pushing.
