Are the Hastings cantilever deer barrels for the light contour Remington 1187's any good?

I was not happy with the Remmington cantilever barrel I had, push down on the scope and watch about 4 ft of movement at 100 yds. The base that goes over the reciever like a saddle and screws replace the trigger group pins is more solid and a lot less money but it's ugly. I went to a Encore slug barrel but it uses a special weaver base (about twice the length of most and thicker) not the same one as all the other encore barrels (which matches up but will ruin the barrel) - if you use the standard base the screws will poke through the barrel, TC replaced mine. The cheapest good solution is the single shot H&R or NEF slug gun and it may not be impressive to look at but it will be flawless in performance.
