Why is it when I kill a deer in a my favorite spot nothing comes back through and I mean nothing? From pre-rut to gun season this spot never falls to produce deer but you got 1 shot and 1 kill please tell me why this is?

i would say b/c u leave a gut pile maybe? or drive and atv in there to get ur deer out? but i shoot deer gut them go back the next day and have deer sniffin the guts and yots eating it? and still take a few more out the same spot i guess its where you hunt and how much pressure ur heard gets. deer are smart if u get busted a few times in one spot they will look up way before next time i seen it ! lol i move my stands every year even if it 5 yards

alot of people say that it is because of the blood but likek monkeyyboness said i have killed deer and gut them and came back to find them eating and sniffing it but what i would do is after killing a deer i would move my stand to another location that is why i scout out atleast 5 locations for my deer stands and it works out really well for me

I wonder if you are leaving to much scent on the ground after you take care of your deer? Just like the other guys I have taken deer from one spot on one day and the very next day, and the same day for that matter have had deer walk right to where I just dropped one. Deer a funny animals.

I can't speak for your circumstances but on Monday I shot a large doe that was feeding on a pipeline with 3 other does. After the shot the doe dropped and bled quite heavily on the spot. Of course the other 3 does ran off but I sat tight just to see what else might wander by. After about 5 minutes, 2 of the does actually came back onto the pipeline and began feeding. Of course they looked a bit curiously at their fallen comrade but were not deterred in the least. I mean they stood and ate literally 5 feet from this dead deer! And like I said there was blood everywhere; they could have cared less. In fact they hung around for another 30 minutes or so. I guess a deer's reaction just varys from place to place.
