| | I have never hunted from a ground blind before. My wife is hunting with me this year and does not feel compfrotable in a treestand. I have been doing a lot of research online. Based on price and value, I am thinking about the Ameristep Intimidator, or dominator. Any suggestions? | | | |

| Well the Book of Proverbs I think it is says, It's better to dwell in the corner of the housetop then with a brawling women in a wide house. So I would say get the biggest ground house you can afford. lol. Sorry bud no real suggestions just had to go for it, that is cool that your wife is going hunting with yah. | | | |

| I try to look at my hunting gear as an investment. Just like a craftsman buying tools you definately want to get the highest quality for the dollar. Go ahead & bite the bullet, buy a Double Bull! Yes, they are high. But, based on quality vs price I'll buy a DB everytime! Take it from someone who hunts only from the ground (I'm in a wheelchair) & has had them all, the DB is head & shoulders above ALL others!

| | Like mentioned prevoiusly, I don't have any experience hunting from the ground. I read some reviews and it was mentioned that the DB camo pattern really worked only in Texas. I'm from Pennsylvania and was looking to blend in as much as possible. | | | |

| My reply to that is "don't believe everything you read"! I've never hunted a day in Texas & found that DB works exceptional for me. I hunt hardwoods, pines, crop fields, grass fields, hay meadows, you name it & have had success in all with a DB.
They definately work better if you "brush them in" but, that is with ANY blind. Jay Gregory from The Wild Outdoors TV show uses them in Iowa, Missouri, Kansas & Illinois.
You mentioned Ameristep earlier, I've had a couple of their blinds. I've found the quality of their blinds to be mediocre at best. The hubs are weak, the rods are brittle & the zippers might work once (twice if you are VERY lucky).
I will say, however, that if you like Ameristep then by all means buy one. Don't take my word for it.
I wish you the best of luck & success with your hunting adventures. | | "Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail." Ralph Waldo Emerson | |

| | We have a couple blinds where we hunt and I have had good luck with them. There is parts of our lease that we can't hang stands and the blinds work well. The one thing I have found is you need to get them up after season or they will fade badly. | | | |

| | I have the ameristep dominator and it is the best ground blind I have ever hunted out of. It is the best blind for the money. Also it is very big. I have hunted out of it with other people quite a few times. I recommend it for sure. | | Live life 8 seconds at a time | |

| Go BIG or stay home!! You need room to move undetected inside of a ground blind, especially when there are two of you. Set them up in the store then climb in. See how much room there is for 1 person and then bring in the wife to sit with you. Can you move to make a shot with bow or gun? Can you do it quietly? Some of the less expensive blinds also flap in the wind and make noise. This has cost me more than 1 shot at good deer. I think that the new Double Bull will be my next blind purchase. I HAVE set one up in the store and climbed in, with a friend(not the wife) and found that there was of lot of room to sit comfortably and move to get the shot If your wife is uncomfortable while in a blind,do you think she will enjoy the experience? This is just one mans's advice and opinions. Good Luck whatever you decide. | | | |

| I would go with the Big Game deluxe. You can put it up in 30secs and its just about the biggest one out there. Why spend $250 when you can get more for your money for $120?
