has anyone had any problems with their mechanical broadheads after continued practice shooting into targets...as far as accuracy is concerned

thinking about using mechanical heads at some point.  Just wondering whether all that practice/wear and tear affects the accuracy of a mechanical head over time.

thanks for any replies

Some mechanicals like rage come with a practice head.

Give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime.

I shoot my mechs at targets and haven't had any of the problems like you ask about. I inspect them often to be sure that they are not damaged and then I have no faults with them.

the rage comes with a practice tip. it helps because you can pactice with it and not of any wear on the other tips.

I know everyone has their own favorite, buut which do you all shoot?   (for those whom have replied)

right now I shoot a G5 striker, honestly they are very accurate and cosistent with my set up.

However I have been told that mechanicals are just as accurate but in  most cases have half an inch wider cutting zone compared with what I am shooting...

I just don't want to invest the $ into some heads that end up not being as accurate when the big moment arrives...

I shoot 100 grain Spitfires ($33.00---$35.00 per 3) and they hold a group as well as my practice points.

I shot 100 gr Spitfires last year and had good luck. After watching a hunting show where they were using Rage 2 blade I bought some. The hole that broadhead left was amazing at the least. I am excited to try them this year.

I appreciate the info and have looked at both of these before, never shot either of them.....I guess it is hard to practice with them without buying them you know..

anyway if you think of anything else any info on the mechanicals is appreciated.

I use the Bloodtrailer 4-blade 90 grain mechanical heads (now discontinued). I bought a few sets when available with 3 practice blanks.
I always practice with the blanks to save on my heads!!!
