| | No matter what I do, I cant get my arrows to fly straight when I use broadheads. I have tried fixed blades and mechanical broadheads. I thought about using helical vanes, but my father said that I need to use short vanes. Help. | | | |

| I shoot blazer vanes on my arrows. They work real good with fixed or mechanicals. I do use a helical with them as well. They may look funny but they seem to work pretty good on aluminum shafts as well. I use Beman ICS carbons. You could also try a 3'' feather that might work as well. | | thwack is the only sound i want to hear from sept to feb!!! | |

| | first off before you even think it's your arrows, make sure your bow is properly tuned and your using the right spined arrows for your poundage/draw lenght. take it to an Archery Pro Shop and have them help you get the bow setup and tuned. once the bow is setup right then you move onto paper tuning your arrows, after that you paper tune your broadheads. once that is complete you should have no problem at all shooting fixed blade broadheads. | | To Hunt or Not to Hunt, that is the question? | More often than not, erratic broadhead flight is caused by a bow that is out of tune. I would start by getting the bow tuned at a pro shop, then paper tune the bow. Also your broadheads need to be tuned to achive proper flight. Here is a pretty good read on the subject. http://www.pabucks.com/broadhead_tuning.html | | Give a man a fish and feed him for a day. | Dont be to quik to blame it on an poorly tuned bow. You must also tune your arrows. With a broadhead on each arrow put the tip of the head on a hard flat surface and spin the arrow like a top. If there is any wobble where the broadhead screws into the insert you may have a bent broadhead furrel or an improperly installed arrow insert. If there is wobble try a different head on the arrow if that corrects the problem then the head ferrel was bent if not then it is probably the insert. | | | |
