Just getting back into  bowhunting after 4 year hiatus; sold my Matthews LX and  purchased a Matthews DXT, so it's a completely new set-up. I'm going with a Whisper Biscuit as opposed to Drop Away, since I used Drop Away on the LX and blew a couple of shots at nice deer when arrow slipped off.

Anyway, I'd like some recommendations as to a sight.  Most all my kills have come in the last few minutes of light of the day, so I will need a sight that either has external light source or bright pins. I do all my hunting from a tree stand and haven't shot a deer any further than 34 paces; most are 20 paces or less.

Recommendations?

Thanks,
Richard

I can't give you specific names, and I probably wouldn't anyway, since my opinion on the best sight would be just that - an opinion. In general, simply look for sights with large wraps of light absorbing filiments. The bigger these are the brighter the sight point will be. A second option would be some of those new sights that have a tritium point. This glows all by itself with no light source. It does tend to make them expensive, however.

Finally, I would - and again this is my opinion - I wouldn't go with an external light. My reasoning is that the more whistles and bells you put out there the more that can go wrong. All you need is to forget to check the battery and find light won't come on and now you can't see your pins. I sure hope this helps a bit....:)

check out the deadnuts sights.very well built and afffordable.i shoot the pro-5pin.had it now for 4 years.has 3way adjustment and you can get .019 or .030 pins for it.you may only want the 3 pin or 4 pin set-up pending on bow speed and comfort distance shooting.

After alot of trial and error,I settled on a Keller, one pin 0 to 30 yds no guess work. The only trouble I had is the battery for the light died.Other than that very accurate and dependable.
With that said, everyone has a different opinoin
